Kasowitz team represents Steiner NYC in Wegmans ground lease at Brooklyn Navy Yard
Douglas Heitner, Jeffrey DiChiara, and Julia Sanabria of Kasowitz's real estate practice represented Steiner NYC in simultaneously negotiating a 96-year ground lease with the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation for the development of six acres of land at the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a mixed use retail and light industrial/office complex, and a long term lease with Wegmans to serve as the anchor tenant.
"Working side by side with our client we were able to bring our public-private expertise to serve as the fulcrum in bringing together the BNYDC, Steiner and Wegmans to craft a deal that addressed the group's collective desire for a viable economic arrangement, sustainable, appropriate development of the Navy Yard and job creation in an underserved, underemployed area of Brooklyn," said Heitner, who led the Kasowitz team.
