JEMB Realty complete three new leases at 1 Willoughby Sq.

New York, NY JEMB Realty Corporation, a family-run real estate development, investment and management firm has completed three new leases at 1 Willoughby Sq. The new tenants will join FXCollaborative, the building’s architect and anchor tenant. The new leases bring 1 Willoughby Sq. to nearly 50% leased. 

Propel, a financial tech company dedicated to building technology that helps low-income Americans improve their financial health, will relocate from its existing Brooklyn offices, taking 10,000 s/f on the 17th floor of the building. 

“We are proud to be a Brooklyn-born company, with most of our employees located in the borough,” said Ursula Lopez-Palm, director of people eperations at Propel. “We were immediately drawn to the high quality offices at 1 Willoughby Sq. The incredible light, air and views create a one-of-a-kind workplace experience. Coupled with the unparalleled services and offerings of the amenity center, we knew right away that the building was a perfect match of our employees.”

Walnut Ridge, a family office with non-profit and philanthropic initiatives, will occupy 5,000 s/f across a portion of the 16th floor. Ms. Foundation for Women, a national social justice foundation devoted to securing rights, equality and justice for women founded by Gloria Steinem, will occupy 11,000 s/f across the the 20th floor of 1 Willoughby Sq. Ms. Foundation for Women was represented in the transaction by Lindsay Ornstein and Stephen Powers, co-founders of OPEN Impact Real Estate, and Casey Noel, vice president of Transwestern Real Estate Services.
