IREM president message: Reg'l. Leadership Conference

This past August, I along with the chapter's IREM association executive, Nanette Stubbe, and Steven Savoca of Konar Properties had the pleasure of representing our chapter at the IREM Regional Leadership Conference held in Annapolis, Md. The purpose of the conference was to gain a host of practical insights into leadership and management in order to benefit ourselves as well as our chapter. IREM stressed the three core elements that define a successful chapter: 1. Sustainable leadership. 2. Supportive administrative structure. 3. Enthusiastic member involvement and worthwhile member services. While participating in the conference, we were forced to take a hard look at our chapter and in the end walked away feeling confident that our chapter is meeting these three core elements. We also walked away feeling there is always room for improvement and with that being said we would like to ask your assistance in achieving the goal of continually improving our chapter by helping us with the following: 1. Grow the membership by encouraging greater existing membership and candidate participation in chapter. 2. Contact me or our IREM association executive, Nanette Stubbe with helpful ideas or suggestions for events or programming. Nicholas Harris, Jr., CPM, is the 2008 chapter 58 president of the Institute for Real Estate Management (IREM) and vice president of operations at Regional Facilities Management Services, LLC, Fairport, N.Y.
