Innovative restroom indicator light boosts workplace efficiency and convenience

Los Gatos, CA For office workers who share a single-stall restroom, one everyday frustration remains surprisingly common: not knowing whether the restroom is occupied until after making the walk down the hall and jiggling the handle.

That challenge inspired an innovative solution from Heads Up Lock Company — an affordable restroom occupancy indicator designed to clearly display restroom availability from a distance.

The system uses a simple, highly visible light signal:

• Green indicates the restroom is vacant

• Red indicates the restroom is occupied

The indicator can be seen from down hallways, around corners, in adjacent rooms, or even from another floor, helping employees avoid unnecessary trips and interruptions during the workday.

“Employees value two things in shared restrooms: cleanliness and knowing when the restroom is available,” said the company. “Our goal was to create a simple, practical solution that improves convenience and efficiency in the workplace.”

The patented, ADA-approved device is low-maintenance and designed for easy installation by any qualified handyman or contractor. The system is ideal for a wide range of single-stall restroom environments, including: Office buildings, warehouses, restaurants and fast-food establishments, convenience stores and supermarkets, hair salons, clinics and medical offices, banks, schools, and small businesses.

The Heads Up Lock kit is affordable and comes complete with everything needed for easy installation. If building power should go out, it will automatically re-start itself. It is 100% accurate. Once it is installed there is no maintenance required. By allowing employees to instantly see restroom occupancy with a quick glance, businesses can create a more efficient and user-friendly workplace environment.

When the government takes a portion of a landowner’s property, most assume just compensation stops at the value of the land taken. However, in partial takings, that is only half of the equation.
