Industry mourns loss of Weisel of Metro Pest Control

Ben Weisel, who started Metro Pest Control in 1977, passed away on December 26th, 2013 after a battle with cancer. He was 72. Weisel, who was born in the Bronx, lived in Hewlett with his wife Billie. The family business has been run in recent years by his children and wife and some of his grandchildren are also working for the company. Ben is survived by his wife, Billie Barbash; sons Greg Zarek, Joe Zarek and Keith Zarek; daughters Dahlia Weisel and Lori Villani; two sisters Amy and Nina and his eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wanting to make a donation should do so to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
