New Street Realty Advisors, LLC completed a lease between Friends of the Children New York, and L+M Development Partners, the owners of 903 Dawson St. Friends of the Children will take immediate occupancy of the space and anticipates an opening this Fall.
The space will be utilized for an early intervention program that screens and selects children in kindergarten who are the most at-risk of school failure, juvenile delinquency, and early parenting. Friends of the Children breaks the cycle of generational poverty through an intensive and research based approach that empowers the individual with the character strength to rise above their circumstances.
This will be the first location in the Bronx for Friends of the Children. Friends of the Children will revitalize this Bronx neighborhood in many ways. The program will promote high school graduation, help students avoid the juvenile justice system, and assist in the choices individuals make throughout their childhood.
