Fried Frank act as counsel in transactions totaling $439 million

Manhattan, NY Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP acted as counsel in the following transactions:

• Acted as counsel to Savanna in connection with its $257 million sale of 540 West 26th St., also known as Chelsea 540, to Ramrock Real Estate. The property, located in the Hudson Yards neighborhood, is a nine-story, 164,000 s/f mixed-use property comprised of office space on the upper floors and a gallery and retail space on the ground floor. The Fried Frank team was led by real estate partner Ross Silver and included real estate associates Brian Helweil and Joshua Katz.

Fried Frank previously represented Savanna in connection with (i) a 70,000 s/f, 18-year lease to Roc Nation for its headquarters and (ii) a 85,000 s/f lease to Avenues: The World School for its headquarters, both at 540 West 26th St.

• Acted as counsel to The Moinian Group in connection with its planned acquisition of the remaining ownership interest in 3 Columbus Circle from SL Green Realty Corp., which owned 48.9% of the property, for $233 million. SL Green acquired its stake in 2011 and the two companies began repositioning the property as a class A corporate building after renovations.The Fried Frank team was led by real estate partner Robert Sorin and included tax partner Richard Wolfe, real estate associate Michael Hofer, and corporate real estate associate Andrew Ebersbach.
