Fishbach and Beard of RKF arrange two leases totaling 2,558 s/f for Oaxaca Taqueria

Brooklyn, NY RKF has arranged two leases with Oaxaca Taqueria totaling 2,558 s/f at 478 Halsey St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant and 406 Rogers Ave. in Crown Heights. RKF vice chairman Barry Fishbach and senior associate Alex Beard arranged the lease at 478 Halsey St. on behalf of the landlord, MBH Acquisitions LLC. Beard arranged the lease at 406 Rogers Ave. on behalf of the owner Neu Projects. The tenant was represented in both transactions by Daniel Rodriguez Sains of Bantam Realty Services. Located on the corner of Lewis Ave., the location at 478 Halsey Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant recently opened earlier this month and occupies 1,058 s/f of ground floor space. Oaxaca has another location in Bedford-Stuyvesant near the border of Clinton Hill. Oaxaca’s new Crown Heights location at 406 Rogers Ave., on the corner of Sterling St., will occupy 1,500 s/f on the ground floor. The landlord plans to renovate the building and restore the original storefront, including a large glass frontage, to when the space was occupied by the Old Timer Bar & Grill several decades ago. The new store is expected to open in Fall 2015. “We’re pleased to have found a local staple like Oaxaca for these spaces in underserved neighborhoods,” said Beard. “We’re certain the restaurant will be a great addition to Crown Heights and build on the brand’s success in Bed-Stuy.” Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant, both with historic roots that can be seen in the area’s original brownstones and storefronts, have emerged as prominent retail submarkets in the boroughs, offering a unique blend of retail, restaurants and bars, along with a wide range of locally-owned businesses. Oaxaca Taqueria is a New York-based Mexican restaurant chain that dedicates itself to bringing customers traditional Mexican, locally-sourced cuisine inspired by the flavors and ingredients of Oaxaca, Mexico. With these locations, Oaxaca will have seven locations in Brooklyn and 11 locations throughout New York.
