Delisle and Monahan of Island Associates negotiate new lease with Aldi Supermarkets

Ocala, FL Roger Delisle & Robert Monahan of Island Associates successfully negotiated a new lease agreement with Aldi Supermarkets for space at Marion Oaks Plaza. Aldi recently purchased South East Grocers, the operators of Winn Dixie Supermarkets. Delisle was able to negotiate a conversion of the existing Winn Dixie store at Marion Oaks Plaza to a long term Aldi. As part of the transaction, Aldi will converting the store to Aldi’s concept and will be making façade improvements as well as completely renovating the interior. Aldi will be spending in excess of $2.5 million dollars on their renovations. Aldi entered a new long term lease with options and are excited to enter the Marion Oaks market.

In addition to the Aldi transaction, Delisle also successfully negotiated a long term lease extension with Sun Wan Restaurant and a new lease with The Attic Thrift Shop at Marion Oaks Plaza. Sun Wan is a Chinese take-out restaurant that has operated at Marion Oaks Plaza for over a decade, and have now secured a new long term lease extension so they can continue to operate and service the community. The Attic Thrift Shop has entered into a lease for 4,200 s/f of space at Marion Oaks Plaza and will operate as a second hand store selling clothing, furniture and home accessories.

Marion Oaks Plaza is a 56,877 s/f shopping center on a 10+ acre site with a 12.5+/- acre site adjacent to it that is currently in the early stages of planning for development. The owners of the property are a group of investors that own shopping centers, single tenant properties, industrial buildings, and apartment complexes up and down the East Coast.
