According to Bertwood Realty, a 700 s/f store opened at 321 Bleecker St. between Christopher and Grove for the San Francisco-based clothing company Margaret O'Leary. The nine-year lease was signed before Thanksgiving. O'Leary is renowned for its collections of cutting-edge knitwear. This will be the boutique designer's 11th location; its second in Manhattan. Celebrities wearing Margaret O'Leary include Kate Hudson, Madonna, Marcia Cross, Jennifer Garner, Kaley Cuoco, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Halle Berry. Bertwood Realty has been extremely active in the area, doing deals for Saint James, Arianna, Carre d'Artistes, among others. Referred by their client NOMA Shoes, they represented both the tenant and the sub-landlord. Bertrand de Soultrait, president of Bertwood Realty who handled the deal, said, "Margaret O'Leary fits in great on the block which already has Caudalie, Saint James, Arianna Skincare, Reiss London and soon to open, Eric Kayser." de Soultrait said, "This block is great value because rents are 50% more just three blocks down, and yet the foot traffic and quality of buyer is similar." Bill Green, CEO of Margaret O'Leary represented the tenant. The sublandlord is Greenwich Heritage Group.
