DB Cohen Comm'l. Real Estate forms Capital Realty Mgmt.; Kopke to join as VP of property services

David Cohen of DB Cohen Commercial Real Estate, LLC has formed a new company, Capital Realty Management of New York, LLC. It has acquired the property management agreements and related assets of RRK Realty, Inc., doing business as Capital Realty Management, and the property management business of DB Cohen Commercial Real Estate, LLC. The acquired property management agreements are a mix of medical office, commercial office, retail, apartment, condo and homeowner's association (HOA) agreements within the greater Capital Region. "We're proud that Capital Realty Management of New York, LLC is not only a full-service provider of property management services but also one of the largest exclusively third-party property management companies in the region," said Cohen, broker and president of the new company. Richard Kopke will also join the firm as vice president of property services. He has been in the field of property management since 1979. He has served as president of Capital Realty Management since 1991. A licensed broker, Kopke also holds the designation of Real Property Administrator (RPA) from the Building Owners and Managers (BOMA) Institute International, served on the board of directors for the Albany chapter of BOMA for over 17 years and as its president for two years. "We are honored to bring Richard Kopke, a prominent leader in the property management field for over three decades, on board at Capital Realty Management of New York, LLC," said Cohen. "We look forward to continuing his tradition of providing excellent service to his clients and properties." Formerly, Kopke was executive director of the Municipal Housing Authority in Schenectady, where he served for six years. He was also executive director of Better Neighborhoods Inc., of Schenectady, serving for more than two years and project manager for the Poughkeepsie Urban Renewal Agency, serving for three years. Kopke is a member of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors and the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Board. He holds a Public Housing Manager Certification from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and a Bachelor of Science degree (1974) in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University.
