David of Friends of the Highline addresses YM/WREA

Friends of the High Line founder Joshua David kicked off the winter/spring season of YM/WREA's luncheon series on Tuesday, January 10th. David treated members to an inspiring presentation by discussing how this elevated park that once was known as Death Ave. because of accidents between freight trains and street level traffic, is now a perennial public garden and a major tourist destination attracting over three million visitors annually. In addition he talked about its history, unique architectural elements and ongoing initiatives that include the integration of the High Line and the West Side rail yards. About YM/WREA Established in 1948, with a membership totaling approximately 394, Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association promotes greater understanding and knowledge of the real estate industry among its constituents through its monthly luncheons and wide variety of philanthropic activities including New York Cares, Central Park Clean-Up Day, an Annual Blood Drive, among others, in addition to many social functions.
