Ciminelli Real Estate Corp. signs 37,000 s/f lease with Wendel

Ciminelli Real Estate Corp., one of Western New York's leading full-service real estate companies, has signed a long-term lease with Wendel, a locally based design and construction firm, to expand and relocate the firm's Amherst Corporate Headquarters to Centerpointe Corporate Park. Wendel will occupy 37,000 s/f at 375 Essjay Rd. in Ciminelli's flagship corporate park. They expect to take occupancy sometime in April of 2015. "We are extremely pleased that Wendel has chosen to locate their new facility in Centerpointe," said Timothy Malchow, director of leasing and sales at Ciminelli Real Estate Corp., the leasing agent for the owner, Centerpointe Corporate Holdings, LLC. "Our main goal was to provide Wendel with a sophisticated, Northtowns address that would accommodate the additional space they required, both now and in the future. We accomplished that with the Essjay Rd. facility, and are thrilled to have them within the Ciminelli family of tenants." With 7 offices located throughout the U.S., Wendel is a nationally recognized design and construction firm. providing services to clients across the country, including architecture; civil, electrical, energy, environmental, mechanical, municipal, structural, and transportation engineering; construction management; energy management; alternative fuels; commissioning; GIS; landscape architecture; land-use planning; and survey. The firm is headquartered in Amherst, NY, with offices in downtown Buffalo, New York Metro, Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond, VA; and Washington, DC areas. "Our focus during this process was on productivity and sustainability," said Stewart Haney, Wendel's President and CEO. "We decided that keeping an Amherst address would best accommodate the majority of our employees and provide access to transportation to support clients in Western New York and across the U.S." Haney added that the sustainability factor also played a key role in the firm's decision. "We wanted to re-use an existing building, not construct a new one. We thought it best to find something already in Amherst's inventory, and this building works perfectly." The Centerpointe facility will accommodate a nearly 10,000 sq. ft. expansion for Wendel. Headquartered in Williamsville, New York, Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation specializes in commercial real estate services including development, leasing, property management and construction to over 350 international, national, and local clients throughout New York State, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Florida.
