CBRE wins two of three REBNY Ingenious Deal of the Year Awards for 2011

The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) has awarded two of the three Ingenious Deal of the Year awards for 2011 to CBRE Group, Inc. This marks the fifth time that CBRE has won multiple REBNY Ingenious Deal of the Year awards in one year. CBRE is the only firm to accomplish this feat more than once. CBRE's Mary Ann Tighe, CEO of the New York Tri-State Region, Gregory Tosko, vice chairman, along with Ramneek Rikhy, senior associate, won the Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award for representing Condé Nast in its transformative 1.1 million s/f commitment to One World Trade Center, now the tallest building in New York City. The award marks the second time that Tighe and Tosko have won an award for their visionary work on behalf of Condé Nast. In 1996, they won for the deal that brought Condé Nast to 4 Times Square and helped launch the revitalization of Times Square as a vibrant commercial district. This is Tighe's 7th and Tosko's 5th Ingenious Deal of the Year award. CBRE's Vice Chairmen Bill Shanahan and Darcy Stacom, along with Paul Gillen, senior vice president, won the Edward S. Gordon Award for their office condominium sale at Two Gotham Center in Long Island City. According to the team's award submission, the sale was a complicated transaction involving a first-time New York City buyer, an unresolved land purchase, unfinished condo documents and a pending ULURP, all against the background of a global economic meltdown. The Two Gotham Center award comes on the heels of last year's REBNY win for Shanahan, Stacom and Paul Leibowitz's work on behalf of the New York City Educational Construction Fund at 250 East 57th Street. This is Mr. Shanahan and Ms. Stacom's 3rd Ingenious Deal of the Year Award. REBNY's Ingenious Deal of the Year Award was established in 1944. This year's awards mark CBRE's 27th and 28th Ingenious Deal of the Year awards, an unparalleled achievement in the REBNY competition. All told, CBRE has won 11 Henry Hart Rice Awards, 11 Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Awards and three Edward S. Gordon Awards.
