CBRE wins REBNY Sales Broker Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award for 2015 - Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award

New York, NY  CBRE Group, Inc. was a winner of a REBNY Sales Broker Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award for 2015. The Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award went to CBRE’s Lauren Crowley Corrinet, Gregory Tosko and Sacha Zarba for “An Affair to Remember | The Empire State Building Stays LinkedIn: How CBRE Inspired an Icon to Innovate for Technology’s Most Innovative Company.” Chris Hogan was also instrumental with supporting the core team. “Our team completed a complex and innovative deal for one of New York City’s most significant tech occupiers, in one of our city’s most iconic buildings,” said Matthew Van Buren, president, CBRE Northeast Division. “To see their ingenuity recognized by this award—from their industry peers—is a real honor for the team and for CBRE.” CBRE’s submission captures how the team created a new home in LinkedIn’s longtime NYC headquarters, the Empire State Building, growing its space by 126,000 s/f for a vertical campus designed to draw top talent. This was doubly impressive, given the need to answer the demands of LinkedIn and also work closely with Empire State Realty Trust to bring an iconic asset into the digital age. The team’s relationship with LinkedIn began in 2011, when Zarba arranged their 6,000 s/f offices in the building—which would ultimately grow to 278,000 square feet over the years, including this most recent deal. This was the seventh REBNY Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award for Tosko and the first for Crowley Corrinet and Zarba. CBRE has won 34 REBNY Awards since the program’s inception, as well as five Retail REBNYs.
