Browne of Howard Ecker closes a total of 12,878 s/f in leases

Howard Ecker + Co. has secured new leases for two professional services firms totaling 12,878 s/f. The firm closed on a 7,496 s/f lease for Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney & Preiss at One Penn Plaza and sub-leased the firm's previous space of 3,210 s/f at 22 Cortlandt St. Howard Ecker also signed a lease of 2,172 s/f at 475 Park Ave. South for Farmer & Co. Michele Browne, managing director at Howard Ecker, worked with both firms to leverage the unprecedented influence that tenants have in today's commercial real estate leasing market while ensuring that their new spaces met business objectives while minimizing business and building risk associated with the deals. The landlord, Vornado, was represented in-house by Dan North and Deith Luciano for the Tressler lease, while Stephen Lambert represented Cohen Brothers, the landlord, in the lease for Farmer & Co. "While the New York market is still experiencing a significant slowdown in transactions, our work has continued apace, as evidenced by these deals," said Browne. "There is definite trend to tenants looking for smaller offices and these are the transactions that are being completed in the current environment."
