Brooklyn Board of Realtors and NYSCAR Metro LI team up

Noting a lack of commercial education opportunities in the borough, NYSCAR Metro LI offered to become the "commercial arm" of the Brooklyn Board of Realtors. John Reinhart, president of the Brooklyn Board saw the value in teaming up with NYSCAR. A meeting of interested Brooklyn Board members was organized by NYSCAR treasurer Alan Hendrickson (past-president of NYSCAR) and NYSCAR director Jeff Ferretti (who is also a past-president of the Brooklyn Board of Realtors). The NYSCAR Metro LI chapter held its first commercial training session for the Brooklyn Board of Realtors on May 11. The training session was attended by 65 realtors which packed the room. Ed Smith, CREI, ITI, CIC, GREEN, RECS gave a seminar on: "Introduction to Commercial Investment." Harvey Kolin, president of the NYSCAR Metro - LI chapter spoke on Features and Benefits of joining NYSCAR. He stressed that NYSCAR membership can be considered as a credential for commercial real estate. Kolin also spoke of the legislative awareness that NYSCAR does both in supporting positive legislature for commercial realtors and opposing bills that might hurt the commercial realtor. The program was well received and another seminar is being planned.
