Berley of Walter & Samuels promoted to executive managing dir.

Walter & Samuels, Inc. has promoted Marc Berley from managing director to executive managing director after one year at the firm. In this position, he will continue to help manage the company's portfolio of commercial and residential assets, in addition to spearheading new development projects. A former professor of English at Rutgers and Columbia Universities, where he taught Shakespeare and Renaissance literature, Berley was also president of the Foundation for Academic Standards & Tradition (FAST). A writer and editor, he has published three books as well as articles and book reviews for major magazines. He earned his B.A. from Columbia College. He also holds both an M.A. and Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University, where he was a president's fellow. He also earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
