Bergmann Assoc. and The Pike Co. to complete RGRTA renovation

The Pike Company (Pike) and Bergmann Associates will work together on the design and construction phase services for the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority's (RGRTA) expansion and renovation project on Main St. Bergmann is responsible for the project design while Pike will be responsible for the construction of the $10.2 million project that will greatly increase RGRTA's capabilities as a vital organization providing thousands of people with transportation. Bergmann and Pike will work together on the design and construction of a new 21,000 s/f three-story building. The new facility will include much needed office space, as well as a boardroom and community room. A new parking lot will be constructed along Main St. for visitor and employee parking. The renovation is of RGRTA's existing three-story 15,300 s/f administration building. Bergmann and Pike will upgrade the finishes, maximize office space, replace windows, roofing and lighting, and upgrade the temperature control. These changes will help to improve this building's energy efficiency. The project will be designed in accordance with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) principles. "We look forward to working with Bergmann Associates on this project," said Tom Judson, chairman and CEO of The Pike Company. Joe Istvan, principal-in-charge, with Bergmann Associates said, "We are excited to be working with Pike to help contribute to the revitalization of downtown Rochester. RGRTA was Bergmann's very first client when the firm started 30 years ago." Construction is set to begin in March.
