Bellina named general mgr. of Empire State Building

Joseph Bellina, RPA, has been named general manager of the Empire State Building. Bellina is a senior real estate executive with broad experience in all facets of commercial real estate, including large class A office properties for owner/managers and third-party clients. Most recently he was president/principal at Property Advisors, Inc. From 2005 through 2008, he was with Newmark Knight Frank, most recently as executive VP, serving as property management department head, reporting directly to the chairman and president, for a 40 million- s/f portfolio of owner-managed and third-party properties. From 2002 through 2005, he was at Macklowe Properties, where as senior VP he had overall responsibility for the firm's property management company, consisting of six million s/f of class A office space and luxury rental buildings. For 17 years prior to joining Macklowe Properties, Bellina was with Vornado Realty Trust/Mendik Realty Co., Inc., reaching the post of vice president of operations, reporting to the COO. His responsibilities there included the overall management of approximately nine million s/f of class A office space. Bellina started his career in real estate as an account executive at Kraus Management, Inc. Bellina attended Bernard M. Baruch College, graduating with a master of Business Administration in 1989 and with a bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude) in 1984. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Real Estate Board of New York and of the Board of Directors of the Building Owners and Managers Association of New York (BOMA), and was treasurer of the National Jewish Medical and Research Center Dinner. Bellina is a licensed NYS real estate broker and NYS security guard instructor. The Empire State Building is operated by Empire State Building Co., a partnership of Peter Malkin and the estate of Leona Helmsley, and it is part of the W&H Properties portfolio.
