As new president of our association, Christina Leigh-Stevens has set ambitious goals by Eliezer Rodriguez

On September 12, 2016, Christina Leigh Stevens, founder of Laujel Realty Corp., took the oath of office to lead The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMNAR) as its 58^th president.  Three days later, she presided over her first meeting of the Board of Governors and she did a magnificent job.

Leigh-Stevens is a seasoned Realtor who has served BMNAR in several leadership positions.  In the three and a half years that I have served as her association executive officer, she has traveled with me to various state and national conferences. She has worked hard to prepare herself to take on greater responsibilities on behalf of BMNAR.

It will be a pleasure to help guide Leigh-Stevens in fulfilling her agenda. In her first meeting, she set ambitious goals for the association.  I support her agenda and I know the Board of Governors will do all they can to help her meet her goals. 

Leigh-Stevens is planning to meet and greet every Community Board chairperson and district manager in The Bronx and upper Manhattan.  She wants to educate the public about the invaluable role Realtor’s plays in helping the communities we serve achieve the American dream of home ownership. 

Recoupment is also a big agenda item for Leigh-Stevens. She wants to reach out and bring back members that left the association by offering programs of interest. She wants to enhance our educational program as a way of recruiting and retaining members.  Leigh-Stevens plans to continue hosting the Legislative Breakfasts introduced by her predecessor, Kathy Zamechansky, in 2015.  BMNAR has had great success over the past several years meeting with our elected official to discuss issues of concern to the real estate industry. Leigh-Stevens is also interested in increasing BMNAR’s visibility by encouraging members to get more involved in state and national events. 

In promoting her first event as president, Leigh-Stevens was instrumental in helping to sell out our 2^nd annual “A Night with the Yankees.”  On September 29^th, 108 members and their guests witnessed the New York Yankees defeat our archrivals–the Boston Red Sox. The evening was a success and our guests left with a souvenir Yankee shirt and hat. Leigh-Stevens is off to a great start!
