Alcott HR welcomes Freer as director of human resources, Western NY

Farmingdale, NY Alcott HR has appointed Mary Freer, SPHR as director of human resources, Western New York Division. In her new role, Freer will apply three decades of experience, knowledge and skills across HR areas, including training and organizational development, labor and employee relations, strategic planning and compliance.

Prior to joining Alcott HR, Freer was with ROI HR Consulting, Benefit Brokers of Western New York, where she provided customized HR solutions to small and mid-size businesses.

Additionally, she was the senior manager, human resources with Cameron Compression Systems, where she directed the HR function supporting 800 employees. Her role encompassed employee relations, salary planning, training and organizational development, HRIS staff, compliance and an employee engagement strategy, which led to a significant enhancement to the organization’s corporate culture.

Freer holds a bachelor of science in human resources from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an associate degree in labor relations from Erie Community College in Buffalo. An active member of the HR profession and local community, her affiliations include the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), American Payroll Association (APA), APICS, Buffalo Niagara Partnership, National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
