AEON NEXUS opens new headquarters at 138 State Street

Historic Wellington Row's newest tenant, AEON NEXUS Corp., an IT consulting practice officially opened its new headquarters at 138 State St. in the downtown. The 8,000 s/f building at 138 State St. was originally constructed in 1912. Columbia Development transformed the space giving it a complete interior renovation. Capitalize Albany was able to assist in attaining $2.5 million in grant funding through Empire State Development's Restore New York program in addition to tax abatements and other financial resources Wellington Row redevelopment qualified for. Executive partner of AEON NEXUS, Omar Usmani, joined local and state leaders including Albany mayor Kathy Sheehan, county executive Dan McCoy and deputy director of state operations, Andrew Kennedy in welcoming more than 200 guests to its new headquarters. AEON NEXUS currently employs 20 individuals locally with plans to double its workforce with this expansion to downtown. The new office establishes the companies' second location in the Capital Region, and third overall.
