3tarchitects welcomes Marais and Sayers to architectural team

According to 3tarchitects, a design and architecture firm, Cristina Marais and Sarah Sayers have joined its team. Marais joins 3t architects with more than five years' experience in a variety of projects within the interior design, fabrication, residential, hospitality, and health care sectors. Having worked with several firms such as Situ Studios in New York City, and Tsoi/Kobus & Associates in Boston, and collaborated closely with professors at Cornell University on a variety of projects, Marais brings a diverse background to 3t. Marais graduated with honors with a B.F.A. in Interior Design from Pratt University in Brooklyn and recently received her masters of Architecture from Cornell University. She is a Cornell Council for the Arts Grant Recipient, as well as a Cornell Diversity Fellowship Recipient. "We are excited to have Cristina join our team for several reasons," said Scott Townsend, Founder and Principal of 3tarchitects, "Her portfolio boasts a wide variety of innovative and cutting-edge projects, and her inventive ideas will bring a lot of depth to our already creative staff." "I couldn't be happier to join 3t's team," said Marais. "Their reputation and previous work is extraordinary, and I look forward to collaborating with the professionals at 3t." Sayers comes to 3t after spending seven years with Envision architects where she worked on several university projects for SUNY and for the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Prior to her work at Envision, Sayers was an architectural intern for Justice Design Studio, which focused on commercial and residential designs. Sayers earned her bachelor of science in Architectural Design from Clemson University and earned her masters of Architecture. In addition, Sayers expanded her horizons and studied abroad for a semester in Genoa, Italy. Recognizing the need for environmental sustainability, Sayers gained her accreditation in LEED AP, and continues to utilize "green practices" in all of her architectural projects. "We are honored to have Sarah join our team at 3t," noted Scott Townsend, Founder and Principal of 3tarchitects. "Her in-depth knowledge, LEED AP certification, and extensive experience will add dimension to our talented staff, and to the projects we look forward to designing for clients." "3t's name and stellar reputation precede them," said Sayers. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me as I look forward to helping clients with their design needs while keeping the wellness of the environment in mind."
