Which professional associations or organizations would you recommend to women who are starting out in the AEC industry? I would absolutely recommend becoming involved in both Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI) and Long Island Real Estate Group (LIREG). These organizations offer a great platform for networking with a wide variety of professionals in the AEC industry. Additionally, both groups feature women specific committees and networking events.

What was a pivotal point in your career? The beginning of the pandemic was a pivotal point in my career. I was working full time for a civil engineering firm, and due to the many challenges business owners faced at that time, I was receiving inquiries from friends and colleagues to assist with their firms marketing needs. This concept evolved and eventually led to the ability to work fully independent and incorporate my own marketing agency, Marisa Rose Marketing, LLC. Today, I work directly with notable businesses in the industry such as Emtec Consulting Engineers, LMJ Management and Construction, and Phronesis Engineering.
