05-09-2015 - Subcontractors Trade Association to hold 2015 Annual Construction Awards Dinner

The Subcontractors Trade Association (STA) will hold the 2015 Annual Construction Awards Dinner on Saturday, May 9th at Glen Island Harbour Club. Cocktails and dinner will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., with the Awards Ceremony beginning at 9 p.m. The STA will recognize four distinguished industry professionals and outstanding companies for their exceptional contributions to the construction industry including the following award honorees: Michael Mazzucca Lifetime Achievement Award: Milo E. Riverso, STV Group, Inc. Milo Riverso is the Chief Executive Officer and President of STV Group, Inc., one of the nation’s largest planning, design and construction management firms. Under his leadership the firm has tripled in size and continues to grow, including the recent acquisition of Denver-based energy services firm GWD. Silver Shovel Award: Silverstein Properties, David Worsley Silverstein Properties is the leading real estate development and property management firm with over 50 years of serving New York City and State. David Worsley serves as Senior Vice President and Director of Design and Construction at Silverstein Properties Inc. Mr. Worsley recently oversaw construction of the $1.7 Billion Time Warner Center project at Columbus Circle in New York City. Builder of the Year: Scott DeMatteis, DeMatteis Construction Corporation Scott DeMatteis is the third-generation chairman and president of DeMatteis Construction Company, one of the oldest and largest family-owned construction companies in New York. Under his leadership, DeMatteis Construction has continued to thrive, including the successful construction of Tribeca Tower and Chelsea Tower. Ronald Berger Subcontractor of the Year: Weir Welding Weir Welding has expanded from a small welding repair and storage tank manufacturing facility to a huge multi-plant steel fabrication conglomerate based out of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The company has developed a reputation for craftsmanship and quality throughout the Tri-State region and has been a leading subcontractor for generations. The STA is proud to posthumously honor Charles J. Weir, who led the company as president and co-owner until his recent passing in January of this year.
