Hunt of Hunt Commercial presents "Negotiating" conference on October 22nd; Event speakers included: Hunt, Cohen, Leifer and Ross

The second in a series of conferences took take place Tuesday, October 22nd at the Carlyle At The Palace. Expert panelists presented "Negotiating the Commercial Real Estate Lease - The Tactics and Knowledge You Need To Maximize Results." Those in attendance heard from four disciplines; brokerage, legal, tax and accounting on the topic of negotiating the commercial real estate lease. The speakers; David Hunt, president of Hunt Corporate Services, Inc., Steven Elliot Cohen, partner at Franklin, Gringer & Cohen, P.C., Kevin Leifer, CPA and tax director at Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C and Andrew Ross, CPA and partner at Getty Marcus CPA, P.C joined together for this two-hour conference. Topics included; win-win negotiations, strategies, lease enhancement, special purpose entities, the eight most important clauses in the lease agreement, negotiation behind the scenes and tax and accounting considerations before finalizing the transaction. Guests had the opportunity to meet the speakers at the conclusion of the conference. "What impressed me most was being able to hear from a variety of areas of expertise on their contribution to the overall topic," said Steven Schramm, VP, Citibank. "That opportunity doesn't present itself often." Hunt has been involved with the rental, sale, appraisal and construction of industrial and commercial real estate, primarily on Long Island, New York since 1973. He has also spent time working with opportunity funds, the hospitality industry, real estate loan portfolios, REITs, UPREITs cooperative housing corporations, condominiums, and both corporate and institutional real estate. Ross, CPA, CVA, CFE, PFS, is a partner at Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C. and is a member of the firm's Business Valuation & Litigation Services Group, one of the largest in the New York metropolitan area with nine credentialed business valuation professionals and a team of forensic accountants. Ross is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified Fraud Examiner and Personal Financial Specialist.
