Heilpern named to CBRE Top 225 Producer List

Philip Heilpern, a senior vice president with CB Richard Ellis' Long Island operations, was named to the firm's "Top 225 Producer" list, a designation reserved for the most accomplished brokers globally. In 2009 Heilpern was responsible for 1.7 million square feet in real estate transactions valued at nearly $150 million. Since starting his real estate career in 1985 with CBRE, Heilpern has become one of the industry's top executives earning high honors both within the firm and the community at large. The Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI) and Long Island's Commercial Industrial Broker Society (CIBS) awarded Heilpern the "Broker of the Year" awards in 2004 and 2007 for a 220,000 s/f lease on behalf of Nassau County and a 475,000 s/f transaction for Sleepy's new headquarters, respectively. Long Island Business News awarded him "Broker of the Year" honors in 2008 and 2009 and he was awarded "Deal of the Year" by RexCorp Realty (now known as RXR Realty) in 2004 and 2006 for Nassau County and Vytra/HIP leases, respectively. In 2009 he spearheaded several groundbreaking transactions including: the 558,000 s/f sale of St. John's and Mary Immaculate Hospitals in Queens; a 116,000 s/f lease by Briarcliffe College; a 94,000 s/f lease by Northrop Grumman Corp. in Bethpage; the 525,000 s/f lease disposition in Central Islip by Ocean Logistics, which paved the way for SYSCO's purchase of the facility and renewals of leases by both KPMG and Arrow Electronics. Heilpern earned a bachelor of science degree in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management. He is a member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island and the Real Estate Board of New York. When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
