Wyandanch, NY For more than 30 years, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk has built homes and transformed lives and communities. To celebrate a legacy of building stable foundations for families in LI neighborhoods, Habitat Suffolk gathered CEOs, top executives and employees to build its 200th home through its CEO Build program. Started on Sept. 10th, these leaders from various industries came together to raise the walls on opening day. Habitat Suffolk is able to reach this goal with the support of its partners and volunteers. Led by PSEG Long Island’s CEO Build sponsorship, Dan Eichhorn, president and CEO, will work alongside other executives from Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Zebra Technologies, AVZ, Breslin Realty, Fairfield Properties among others.

“At PSEG Long Island, we are committed to having a workforce that gives back to the communities we serve, and that commitment extends all the way to the top of our organization,” Eichhorn said. “That’s why we’re so proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County for the CEO Build. It gives me a chance to fulfill our mission, personally, with many other leaders as we share in the satisfaction of building a home for our fellow Long Islanders.”

This project is also a Blitz Build home, Habitat Suffolk’s first since 2011. With the help of contractors donating their time and talents, they will build this house together from start to finish in three weeks. Habitat is also proud to be partnering with Axis Construction Corp. and the members of the National Association for the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

“Axis Construction has developed a culture of giving back to the LI community,” said Ralph Lambert, Axis CEO. “It is something that my family and I strongly believe in and have encouraged all employees to donate time and other available resources to give back to those in need of assistance and Habitat for Humanity is the embodiment of the culture we have at Axis.”

“As NARI community service chairman, I have learned that our members and most people in our industry want to be charitable with their time and pocketbooks and we love working with Habitat for Humanity,” said John Hogan, past president and current treasurer of NYC/LI NARI. “It’s the perfect opportunity for volunteers skilled and unskilled to lend a hand knowing that the finished home goes to deserving, hardworking members of our community who have been properly vetted.”

Others are joining to help donate supplies and/or services to help complete the project including Hunter Insulation, J. Ratto Landscaping, Johnstone Supply, Mr. John, Super Marvin Enterprises, Triangle Building Products and more.
