Global Holdings pens lease with Australian restaurant chain THISBOWL at 1880 Broadway

Manhattan, NY Global Holdings made known that Australian restaurant chain THISBOWL has signed a 1,989 s/f lease at 1880 Broadway. The lease signing marks the restaurant’s continued expansion in New York City.

THISBOWL signed a 10-year lease for the ground floor space, located at West 62nd and Broadway in Lincoln Square neighborhood of the Upper West Side. The restaurant will join the building’s lineup of tenants, including JPMorgan Chase and West Elm, contributing to the location’s mix of retail and lifestyle brands. With the addition of THISBOWL, the retail space in the building is now 95% leased.

“This lease reinforces the strength of the property as a destination for dynamic, forward-thinking lifestyle brands,” said Craig Panzirer, senior vice president, director of leasing, Global Holdings. “The building’s prime location consistently attracts top-tier retail and restaurant concepts. THISBOWL’s New York expansion builds on its success in Australia, and we’re confident the brand will resonate with the surrounding community.”

Founded by three friends out of university in Australia, THISBOWL’s popularity has exploded since its first opening in 2016. THISBOWL combines the founder’s passion for food, art, and community to create design-forward restaurants serving food that is accessible and affordable without compromising on nutrition or taste. With more than 50 restaurants across Australia, THISBOWL launched its first U.S. locations in New York, introducing its Asian-inspired bowls and Australian beach culture to the city. The 1880 Broadway location will be the restaurant chain’s fifth in New York City.

“We’ve seen an amazing response to our first few locations in NYC, and we’re excited to continue building that momentum at 1880 Broadway,” said Nathan Dalah, co-founder and head of global growth, THISBOWL. “Since we launched in NYC, we’ve had our eye on the Upper West Side, and we’re keen to be part of the neighborhood’s daily rhythm in Lincoln Square.”

Neal Ohm and Michael Cohen of Newmark represented THISBOWL. Ben Birnbaum, James Panzarella, and Ariel Schuster from Newmark represented Global Holdings alongside Craig Panzirer and Alex Radmin.
