Glenwood begins Phase II leasing at Emerald Green - designed for LEED certification
Glenwood, established luxury rental developer, owner and manager, has begun leasing the second phase of its first sustainable development, Emerald Green, following the fall leasing of its north tower.

Located on 38th St. just west of Eighth Ave., the development includes two 24-story towers containing 568 apartments. Construction at Emerald Green is progressing as residents now enjoy the completed playroom, fitness center and fully furnished main and entrance lobbies.
Emerald Green includes a high percentage of recycled-content construction materials from regional sources, and ensures water preservation with water-efficient plumbing, green roofs utilizing recaptured water for irrigation and a building-wide water filtration system. Exceeding the New York State Energy Code, Emerald Green is fitted for energy efficiency with occupancy sensors for lighting in common areas and roof terraces with heat-reflective pavers. The 400-car parking garage is outfitted with electric cars charging stations to further facilitate green living.
Each Emerald Green home is designed according to LEED guidelines with sustainable bamboo wood flooring, VOC-free interior finishes and walls that minimize random air-infiltration from adjacent apartments and corridors.
The building's landscaped entryways lead to the north and south lobbies, which are connected by a glass-enclosed corridor overlooking an interior garden court with fountains and a reflecting pool. American designer John Saladino furnished and decorated the public spaces.
"As Emerald Green nears completion and the superior finishes, sustainable features and thoughtful amenities all come into place, this building truly has to been seen to be believed," Jacob said.
