FirstService Residential acquires Charles H. Greenthal & Co. and Tudor Realty Services

Manhattan, NY FirstService Residential acquired Charles H. Greenthal & Co. and Tudor Realty Services Corp. The existing management teams of Greenthal and Tudor will continue to oversee their respective day-to-day property management operations.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1958, Greenthal is one of the largest privately owned residential management and leasing firms in the New York metropolitan area with more than 250 condominium, cooperative, and rental properties under management throughout New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County.

Tudor, established in 1990, provides residential property management and brokerage services to almost 100 cooperative and condominium properties, with a particular expertise and well-recognized reputation in the cooperative segment.

“Both Greenthal and Tudor have long track records of success in serving condominiums, cooperatives, and rental properties throughout New York City,” said Dan Wurtzel, president of FirstService Residential New York. “We are excited to welcome their portfolios of marquee properties as well as their experienced teams of property management professionals to provide our clients access to the best local talent in the industry.”

“Greenthal and Tudor clients will now be able to leverage FirstService Residential’s collective buying power, proprietary systems, in-house subject matter experts, and value-added services designed to enhance property values, lower operating costs, simplify building operations, and create a sense of community among residents,” he added. These include preferred banking, lending, energy, and insurance programs and advanced board and resident communications tools.”

With the acquisition of Greenthal and Tudor, FirstService Residential’s New York team expands to more than 700 professionals who play an integral role in providing clients specialized, hands-on management services.

FirstService Residential is North America’s property management leader, partnering with more than 8,600 properties representing more than 1.7 million residential units across the U.S. and Canada.  FirstService Residential is a subsidiary of FirstService Corp.
