Eldor Contracting wins $16.8 million contract from State University Construction Fund

November 12, 2012 - Long Island
Eldor Contracting Corp. has won a $16.8 million contract awarded by the State University Construction Fund for an electrical works project at Stony Brook University and Stony Brook University Hospital. Eldor is serving as the general contractor and electrical contractor on the project which includes the installation of new electrical duct bank and conduits for future transmission feeders throughout the Eastern and Western campuses of the university.
According to Eldor vice president and principal Alan Lang, the project was precipitated by the 1,039-acre campus' aging infrastructure, and the need to accommodate future growth plans. Those plans include the construction of new dormitories and an expansion at the hospital. Eldor will be implementing the project while school is in session on the active Stony Brook University campus which has over 23,000 students.
Approximately three years ago, Eldor provided services at Stony Brook University for electrical construction services involving the installation of a new 69 KV electrical substation servicing the entire college campus and Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Additionally, Eldor was recently awarded a $3.4 million contract by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).
