Timothy Eckersley, RA, AIA, has joined the architectural firm Gertler & Wente as a senior associate, according to partner Jeff Gertler.
In his new position, Eckersley is involved in several projects, including:
* The design of an 18,000 s/f high-end retail store in Manhattan;
* The search and design of the new offices for RCN Communications; and
* The conversion of a four-story garage into a community center and house of worship.
Before joining Gertler & Wente, Eckersley worked at Owen and Mandolfo as a project manager for commercial and institutional projects. Previously, he worked for Perkins Geddis Eastman and Buttrick White & Burtis, and led his own firm from 1991to 2003.
Eckersley moved to New York in 1986 from Hong Kong, where he served as a project architect on the Castle Peak Power Station for Robert Matthew Johnson Marshall. He began his career in London with Casson Conder & Partners, where he worked on educational and historic preservation projects.
"Timothy brings an international perspective to his work, which is extremely valuable in today's global economy," said Gertler. "We are fortunate to have him on our team."
A recipient of many awards throughout his career, Eckersley has served as a professor in the Department of Architecture at the City University and as an instructor at the New York School of Interior Design. He is a registered architect in New York and is licensed to practice throughout the European Union.
Pasquale Fusco, AIA, an industry veteran with extensive experience in the institutional, public, governmental, and commercial sectors, has also joined the firm as a senior associate.
Fusco's experience for the past 25 years includes running his own practice and serving as a partner at Beatty, Harvey and Associates in New York City.

Since he joined Gertler & Wente, Fusco has been working on several projects for New York Methodist Hospital and several residential development projects.
"Pat is a perfect fit for us," said Gertler. "He has spent the last several decades working in the sectors in which we specialize."

Fusco is a registered architect in New York and New Jersey and is an active member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the American and New Jersey Library Associations. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Tags:
