Jericho, NY In a ribbon cutting ceremony, The Engel Burman Group (EBG) officially opened The Bristal at Jericho, the 17th community of The Bristal in EBG’s expansive assisted living portfolio.

Located at 310 Jericho Tpke., the 200,000 s/f, three-story residence situated on nine acres, offers 180 apartments, comprised of 144 assisted living units and 36 memory care apartments that are located in the Reflections area, dedicated to providing care for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

“We are dedicated to meeting the growing demand for senior/assisted living residences on Long Island, which has a higher share of adults over 55 than any other suburban community in New York,” said Jan Burman, partner.

“It gives me great pleasure to join with my partners in formally opening The Bristal at Jericho, our ninth property in Nassau County and undoubtedly the brand’s most sophisticated, state-of-the art community to date,” said Steven Krieger, partner, The Engel Burman Group.

Amenities at the new community include an outdoor pool, Bistro Grille, fitness center, on-site cinema, library, card and billiard room, performing arts center, plus a wide variety of activities and programs for residents including arts and crafts, book clubs, shopping trips, and regularly scheduled cultural outings. There is ample outdoor parking for residents and guests, and the property is situated less than an hour’s drive from Manhattan. The Bristal at Jericho is located on the same campus as The Bristal Grand, a luxury rental community for those 55 and over, which is scheduled to open in May.

Currently occupied by 50 residents, in studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, rental rates at The Bristal at Jericho, including hospitality services, start at $6,500. In addition to the amenities and services provided in the daily rent, some residents may require assistance with their personal care needs such as, bathing, dressing, and medication management.

Senior citizens are the largest and fastest growing segment of the U.S. population, the group of 65+ has grown by over 15% in the last 15 years and now represents 13% of the total American population.  The Engel Burman Group has six more assisted living communities in the pipeline.
