DiCapua named chairman of CodeGreen

CodeGreen Solutions, one of the country's industry-leading providers of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for commercial real estate, appointed Peter DiCapua as chairman of the company. DiCapua brings with him more than 40 years of experience in commercial, residential, industrial and retail properties and will help expand the company's client portfolio and continue providing better solutions for energy resources for real estate owners throughout the U.S. "We are very excited that Peter is joining CodeGreen as chairman," said Chris Cayten, managing director of CodeGreen. "Peter has a reputation of the highest caliber in the real estate industry and we are confident that his unparalleled experience in energy markets and property management will help guide CodeGreen's long-term solutions and products, benefiting both building owners and the environment." "I'm thrilled to join CodeGreen as chairman and continue to follow my lifelong interest in energy efficiency in buildings," said DiCapua. "CodeGreen has already proven itself to be the leader in this area within the commercial industry and I am eager to help them expand the services we provide throughout the country. The technology is here right now to dramatically lower energy costs and usage in the U.S. building sector." CodeGreen's innovative solutions have helped energize the real estate industry on both the East and West Coasts to dramatically cut energy and water usage. DiCapua's experience as a former president of BOMA NY, a former vice chair of the New York Building Congress, 25 years on the board of governors of the Real Estate Board of New York and his involvement in various national industry and energy organizations will help guide CodeGreen as it releases its industry-leading solutions in major metropolitan areas throughout the country. CodeGreen has quickly established itself as a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions for commercial space, with offices and clients on both coasts. In New York City alone, CodeGreen has greened more than 80 million square feet of building space and has managed 75% of LEED-certified office space. CodeGreen is interested in attracting new clients in an effort to help them save money, reduce energy consumption, and improve the environment. DiCapua started his career at ATCO, a real estate firm owned by the Hemmerdinger family. He helped grow ATCO in size and breadth over his four decades with the company, making it a vertically integrated corporation, providing turnkey ownership and management of all its properties. He was instrumental in starting the construction division and guiding the brokerage divisions. In 2003, DiCapua was named COO of ATCO, a position he held with the highest integrity until his retirement in 2013.
