Delisle of Island Associates completes long-term ground leases for Checkers Restaurants

Roger Delisle of Island Associates Real Estate Inc. successfully negotiated the long-term ground leases of pad sites for Checkers Restaurants at 7 Wheeler Rd., Central Islip and 1825 Brentwood Rd, Brentwood.

The tenant is taking over previous Checkers buildings and spending the next several months updating equipment, the building and the sites and preparing them to re-open as Checkers Drive-Thru Restaurants. Both sites were previously occupied by a Checkers franchisee who is no longer in business, and both sites have been closed since March 2022.

The new tenants are investing significant capital into refurbishing both sites and plan to have a grand opening within the next few months. The tenants are operators of several restaurant concepts including Checkers Restaurant sites in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk, and bring their vast experience as Checkers operators to Brentwood and Central Islip.
