Name: Danielle Shainbrown Title: Vice President and General Counsel Company: McGuire Development Company, LLC Location: Buffalo, NY Birthplace: Buffalo, NY Education: BBA, with distinction, University of Michigan Ross School of Business; JD, cum laude, University at Buffalo Law School First job outside of real estate: Attorney, Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf, Cunningham & Coppola LLC First job in real estate or allied field: Associate director of real estate investment, The Benchmark Group. What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? Right now, I'm working with our team to grow our Owner's Representative business, particularly with not-for-profits. That's the best part of my job: Working on behalf of those in need to make sure they have the facilities they deserve, while stretching every hard-won dollar as far as we can. For the future, we want to keep growing McGuire Development at the pace we've seen over the past 7 years, relying on our mission to make Real Estate a commodity, much like the Barilla pasta you buy on the shelf at Wegmans. How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? Playing with my 4 year old son. Favorite book or author: Harold Kushner, "When Bad Things Happen to Good People." Favorite movie: The Shawshank Redemption. Last song you downloaded? Tegan & Sara, Closer. One word to describe your work environment: Family. Rules to live by in business: If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right! If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead) who would it be and where would you go? Elton John, at Hutch's! What is your dream job? To keep doing what I'm doing...helping people achieve their dreams and making sure every dollar is spent wisely.
