Crystal Window & Door Systems recently supplied several hundred large heavy-commercial aluminum windows for the major restoration of an historic building at Rockefeller University. The window replacement at 80-year old neo-classical style Smith Hall is part of ongoing work also involving the restoration of an adjacent building and the construction of a new "bridging" building to join the two into a new Collaborative Research Center (CRC). The Rockefeller University CRC project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and is pursuing Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED NC 2.2) certification.
Smith Hall is an 8-level building housing laboratory space and is situated in the northeast corner of the 14-acre campus. The construction manager for the Smith Hall restoration is Turner Construction.

Crystal supplied Rockefeller University's Smith Hall project with 300 heavy-commercial rated Series 6000 double-hung aluminum windows. The Series 6000 has a AAMA rating of H-HC65 and features heavy-duty thermally broken 4-¼" frames and 1" insulating glass units with special glazing for superior energy efficiency.
