Smith Hall is an 8-level building housing laboratory space and is situated in the northeast corner of the 14-acre campus. The construction manager for the Smith Hall restoration is Turner Construction.

Crystal supplied Rockefeller University's Smith Hall project with 300 heavy-commercial rated Series 6000 double-hung aluminum windows. The Series 6000 has a AAMA rating of H-HC65 and features heavy-duty thermally broken 4-¼" frames and 1" insulating glass units with special glazing for superior energy efficiency. The project windows were tall, with some exceeding 8-½ feet in height.
