Cresa arranges 10-year lease renewal for S. Rothschild at 1407 Broadway

Manhattan, NY Cresa managing principal Peter Sabesan and senior vice president Matthew Feigen have arranged a 10-year lease renewal for S. Rothschild at 1407 Broadway. The firm, which has manufactured men’s, women’s, and children’s luxury coats and outerwear for more than 135 years, will continue to occupy 47,000 s/f at the building through 2035.

“For those of us who grew up around the world of fashion, S. Rothschild was an important contributor to the industry’s success in New York,” said Sabesan. “With so much of Midtown occupied today by diverse industry sectors, it felt good to facilitate a renewal for an esteemed garment center brand that will be here for at least another decade!”

The landlord, Shorenstein, was represented inhouse by Bob Forman. Asking rent for the lease renewal was $58 per s/f. 1407 Broadway was built in 1950. Spanning an entire city block along Broadway, the 1.1 million s/f property has 43 stories.

S. Rothschild manufactures coats and outerwear for such proprietary labels as French Connection, Via Spiga, Sean John, Rachel Roy, and Izod, among others.
