Core Title Services welcomes Slive

Lake Success, NY Core Title Services, a real estate title company, welcomed Mike Slive to its leadership team as senior vice president and underwriting counsel.

Slive is the firm’s sixth staff attorney. He will strengthen what Core Title Services already does well and allow the company to continue its upward trajectory as a services provider and regional industry leader, according to Core Title Services president Andrew Zankel.

Slive started in his role in early February.

“Mike’s hire is a big benefit to our clients – and to us. He’s another experienced attorney who can help them with the kind of transaction they have, no matter how complicated it gets,” Zankel said. “He’s an out-of-the box thinker who is an experienced problem solver when it comes to all things title.”

Slive’s career spans more than 25 years in New York working in direct operations for the “Big Four” underwriting companies. He says he’ll rely on his experience and expertise to not only get the job done for Core Title Services’ clients, but to also help them understand the process along the way.

“I’ve worked on everything from the smallest of residential transactions to multi-site, billion-dollar deals,” Slive said. “I’ve seen just about everything at this point.”

Slive is energized by the opportunity to work on the agency side with such a professional and dedicated group. It was the immediate feel of camaraderie, plus Core Title Services’ sterling reputation in the industry, that sold him on the fit with his new team. Slive’s addition—and the creation of the new position for him—represents the company’s continued commitment to providing the highest level of service.

Core Title Services insures both residential and commercial transactions across the state of New York and nationwide. Slive’s knowledge will be especially beneficial to the company’s growing book of commercial business.

“Every deal is different in our business,” Zankel said “Mike recognizes those differences, takes it all in and really comes up with the right answer. He adds so much to what Core Title Services is already doing and makes us stronger. Mike is going to be a big cog in what we’re doing going forward.”

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
