Consolo of Douglas Elliman named member of board of directors for CREW

Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Douglas Elliman's Retail Group was officially introduced as a member of the 2014 board of directors of the Commercial Real Estate Women's (CREW) Network on Wednesday, October 9th at CREW Network's annual Convention and Fall Council Meeting in Dallas, Tex. Her term will begin January 1, 2014. The organization is the largest commercial real estate association for women and represents 8,200 top women leaders in 74 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. The appointment required unanimous votes cast by the current board of directors, who recognized Consolo's significant contributions to various industry, educational and charitable organizations, including her work as the director of communications for the New York chapter, NYCrew, and her participation as a member of national CREW's Communications Committee since 2012. "This is a tremendous honor from an organization I regard as one of the most important voices for women nationwide," said Consolo. "There has been a world of change since I began my career in commercial real estate. Today, it is less about breaking glass ceilings and more about mingling with others in the C-suites, as well as helping prepare the next generations for their own corner offices." In addition to her positions with CREW and NYCrew, Consolo is a past president of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), also a local chapter of the national organization, for which she launched a scholarship program, helped establish the not-for-profit AREW Charitable Fund and created the Founder's Award. Following a similar blueprint for success, this year she initiated NYCrew's Empire Award to honor a deserving member who has shown commitment and achievement. Consolo is also a co-founder of the SBS Group of Worldwide Fashion Brokers, a global network of luxury retail brokers from 38 countries. The founding and current chairman of the Women's Special Industry Group educational and networking program for the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), she has established must-attend events at that association's conferences worldwide. For the Douglas Elliman Retail Group, Consolo leads a team of 25 specialists in New York and the commercial activities of the firm's 80 offices, serving an international base of retailers, designers, manufacturers, investors, entrepreneurs, and developers. Prior to her official capacity as a member of CREW's board of directors, Consolo will participate in the three-day CREW Network Convention & Marketplace in Dallas in early October.
