Consolo of Douglas Elliman arranges 4,200 s/f lease for CADAR

Manhattan, NY The Worldwide Leasing Team of Faith Hope Consolo at Douglas Elliman has arranged a lease at 595 Madison Ave., the Fuller Building, owned by Vornado, for jewelry design firm CADAR. Consolo exclusively represented Michal Kadar, the company's founder and creative director, in the transaction for the fifth-floor atelier, 4,200 s/f in the 40-story Art Deco skyscraper from which CADAR will launch a retail push this year. Kadar's renown is growing after winning the Rising Star Award for Fine Jewelry from Fashion Group International in New York earlier this year. To build relationships with fine jewelry retailers, last month she hired Ralph Destino, the former president and chairman of Cartier. At Cartier, Destino engaged Consolo personally to lead the complicated negotiations in Greece with the Alexander Onassis Foundation to renew the lease of the Cartier Mansion, the 80,000 s/f Beaux Arts townhouse at 611 Fifth Ave. Her team went on to represent Cartier in the transaction for its retail presence at 828 Madison Ave., in The Westbury, also owned by Vornado. Following his retirement, after 32 years at Cartier, Destino served as chairman of the Gemological Institute of America and led that organization for three years. He's now chairman emeritus of both groups, as well as a recent inductee into the Retail Jewelers Hall of Fame. "It was a great pleasure to work with Michal on this transaction and I'm certain that the involvement and support of Ralph of her fabulous design work will soon lead to CADAR becoming very well known by the world's finest jewelry retailers," Consolo said.
