Conference held on economic incentives for businesses; Presented by Hunt, Manetta and Cohen

On Wednesday, October 29th, Anthony Manetta, Steven Elliot Cohen and David Hunt presented, "How to Secure the Economic Incentive Benefits Your Company Deserves," at a conference that took place at Carlyle At The Palace. The event was sponsored by Astoria Bank. The two-hour conference gave attendees an opportunity to become educated on subjects related to economic benefits offered by town, county and state departments. The attendees were able to learn the path leading to obtaining these economic benefits with regard to commercial real estate acquisition. "Understanding the steps to take in the process of acquiring economic benefits gives potential building owners the proper path to follow," said Laura Greatsinger of Astoria Bank. Manetta has worked within business development through his positions in the private and public sectors. Within the private sector, he is the founder and president of Standard Advisors Group, a corporate solutions provider focusing on commercial real estate advisory, government affairs, communications and corporate development. Prior to becoming the founder and president of Standard Advisors Group, he was the CEO and executive director of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (IDA). Manetta lead the turnaround of the Suffolk County IDA by focusing his attention on retaining and growing companies through tax incentives, privately active bonds and innovative programs aimed to improve the economic climate of the county. Cohen has been practicing in the areas of commercial litigation and transactions, matrimonial and family law and real estate litigation and transactions, among other areas, since his graduation from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1985. He has successfully litigated cases throughout New York State and has appeared as outside counsel in federal and state courts from coast-to-coast. A public lecturer and a noted expert for local media, Cohen is admitted to practice before New York State courts and the United States Federal Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of NY. Hunt has been involved with the rental, sale, appraisal and construction of industrial and commercial real estate, primarily on Long Island, New York since 1973. Hunt founded Hunt Corporate Services, Inc. in January 1981 as an industrial and commercial consulting and brokerage firm, and Hunt Construction Services, Inc. to provide construction and maintenance services for New York metro companies. The aggregate value of commercial and industrial properties Hunt has leased or sold in the New York Metro Area exceeds one billion dollars. The Costar Group and Real Estate Forum Magazine have individually named both the firm, and Hunt as a Top 20 Power Broker.
