Compass launches real-time residential market report app

New York, NY Compass, a technology-driven real estate platform, has unveiled a real-time residential market report that puts up-to-the-minute insights and comparative housing analytics into the hands of agents and consumers with the launch of a new mobile app. Unlike traditional quarterly market reports, “Compass Markets” eliminates the industry-wide data reporting problem by offering statistical data that updates anytime, anywhere.  The app rolls out with housing data for Manhattan and Brooklyn, and will soon scale to additional markets where Compass operates. “Wall Street doesn’t have to wait for once a quarter updates of the Dow Jones Index, and the real estate community shouldn’t have to wait that long for housing information either. “Compass Markets” will provide a moving picture of the market so that consumers and their agents can work together to make better, more informed decisions on their real estate journeys,” said Robert Reffkin, Compass founder & CEO. Developed by Compass’s team of in-house engineers, “Compass Markets” allows consumers to customize market searches by neighborhood, housing type, number of bedrooms, and price range. Year-over-year analysis, complete with live graphs, is available in a number of categories including median price, median price-per-s/f, total listings, total dollar volume, days on market, and negotiability. Another custom feature allows real estate agents on the go to create market reports based on their clients’ wish lists, produce them in PDF form, and share them with the press of a button via email. This additional feature eliminates the need for agents and consumers to carry around hard copies of outdated information from one showing to the next. The “Compass Markets” app for iOS is one of many significant developments led by Compass. The company has quickly grown its offering of proprietary tools that it provides to its agents to help them value and market properties for clients. This year marked the beginning of the company’s national expansion, with offices being opened in DuPont Circle, DC; Lincoln Road, Miami; Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Capitol Hill, DC; Park Slope, Brooklyn; Friendship Heights, MD; and Bridgehampton, NY, with more locations on the way.
