Cerullo joins Meltzer Lippe's Litigation Group

Business litigator Norman Cerullo has joined the Litigation Group of Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP as an associate. Prior to joining Meltzer Lippe, Cerullo was an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Electronic Discovery and Records Management practice groups at the New York City office of international law firm Mayer Brown LLP. Lew Meltzer, managing partner of Meltzer Lippe, made the announcement. “Norm’s complex litigation experience in Manhattan before the state and federal courts will be an asset to this dynamic practice group,” said Meltzer. “We are pleased to welcome a seasoned litigator of his caliber to the firm.” Among the clients Norm has successfully represented include financial institutions, technology and software companies, accounting firms and authors in complex cases that have involved commercial, professional services, employment, securities, antitrust, intellectual property and real estate disputes. He has also successfully litigated electronic discovery cases, including developing and defending electronic discovery protocols. Significant litigation victories include the dismissal of a $3.3 million suit brought against his client, a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the dismissal of a $200 million suit against a hedge fund’s outside service professional; a ruling that has helped to define, and limit, outside service professionals’ liability. Norm earned his law degree from the American University-Washington College of Law, where he served as the managing editor of the American University Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors Degree from Long Island University-C.W. Post. Admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York and the Federal Second and Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Norm is a member of the NYS Bar Association-- Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, Committee on Commercial Division and the Nassau County Bar Association—Commercial Litigation Committee.
