Capitol Fire Sprinkler begins new installation and system upgrades at 40,000 s/f 92nd St. Y

Manhattan, NY Capitol Fire Sprinkler has been retained for a second project at the 92nd St. Y. The fire protection firm is providing system upgrades at the cultural and education center, located at 1395 Lexington Ave.

The project primarily entails improvements to existing fire protection systems on the first and cellar floors. The work includes the installation of 500 sprinkler heads, designed to protect a total footprint of 40,000 s/f on both levels.

“Because of the age and design of the building, we will be working with Cindercrete slabs that require a special type of next generation adhesive chemical anchor,” said senior project manager Alfonso Cozzo, Capitol Fire Sprinkler. “Although this material can be challenging, our team has the experience of other installations here, so we know what to expect to ensure the work is completed efficiently and in a timely fashion.”

Capitol Fire Sprinkler’s in-house team will perform the design and installation.
