Britz of Long Island Housing Partnership named to the Affordable Housing Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York

Hauppauge, NY James Britz, executive vice president at Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) has been named to the Affordable Housing Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.  At LIHP, he currently works in the overall implementation of multiple affordable housing development and supportive programs. His duties include budget preparation; negotiations with builders; screening of applicants; marketing; preparing grant proposals to write down the cost of homes; monitoring of construction; preparation of drawdowns from funding sources; and compliance with various funding requirements. The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY) helps community lenders in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands advance housing and community growth.  The FHLBNY is congressionally chartered, created in 1932 the mission is to advance housing opportunity and local community development by maximizing the capacity of community-based member lenders to serve their markets.  They provide their members with access to economical wholesale credit and assistance through their credit products, mortgage finance program, housing and community lending programs, and correspondent services to increase the availability of home finance to families of all incomes. Britz was appointed to the Council in March 2016 for a term of three years. Britz is a graduate of the University of Scranton and is a graduate from the 2010 Class of The Energeia Partnership – The Academy for Regional Stewardship at Molloy College.  Britz also previously served as President on Board of Directors for the Long Island Community Development Organization, The South Country Community Land Trust and The We Live New York Steering Committee.
