Bremmer of ZT Realty: Follow your "gut" and take risks

Name: Robert Bremmer Title: Founder and President Company/firm: ZT Realty Years with the company: 5 Years in the real estate industry: 7 Address: 32 Court Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 Telephone: 718-855-4422 Real estate organizations/sffiliations: Bremmer is the youngest member elected to join the board of directors of the Princeton University Alumni Real Estate Network. Also, after graduating from Princeton University, he established "Real Estate-Focused Career Nights" at Princeton to give students access to professionals and job opportunities in the real estate arena. What advice would you give to those just starting out in commercial real estate? I would tell them to follow their "gut" and not shy away from taking risks. Five years ago, my first real estate deal was the purchase of a multifamily building in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, when few people thought that was a good idea. That deal, like many others that followed, turned out to be extremely lucrative. Quickly, we acquired 300 units in over 20 properties in Brooklyn, achieving great returns for our investors. You have to be patient and have a vision about how a specific neighborhood will evolve to find value in real estate. Where would you like to be 10 years from today? I would like to run a larger full service real estate/investment company in New York City with multiple divisions that develops, owns and manages a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial assets primarily in New York City and the surrounding area. To help me grow this company, I hope to put together a great team of top-notch, talented and ambitious individuals who love real estate as much as I do!
