New York, NY According to the Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater New York (BOMA New York), the nominees have been reveiled for its upcoming annual Pinnacle Awards celebration at Pier Sixty on February 22nd, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The nominees include: The Durst Organization’s One World Trade Center and CBRE, Inc.’s 3 Bryant Park for Operating Building of the Year as well as Manager of the Year nominees James Kelly of EJM Equities and Duane Basile and Sharon Hart-Fanelli of Cushman & Wakefield. These awards, which recognize the premier buildings and people of New York’s commercial real estate industry, are bestowed upon BOMA New York members of exceptional standing. Following a comprehensive nomination and submission process, those that best embody the spirit of the city are recognized during the event.
Kelly, Basile and Hart-Fanelli are nominated for Manager of the Year in the 10-year plus executive category, while nominees for Manager of the Year for the three to 10-year category include Carolina Ramos of Winter Properties, Christopher Masotto of Normandy Real Estate Partners, Susana Kalaj of SL Green, Erin Leahy of Cushman & Wakefield and Alex Trotta of CBRE, Inc., BOMA NY, the Greater New York area’s federation of BOMA International, which is the world’s largest trade association, represents commercial real estate professionals in all five boroughs. These Pinnacle awards recognize those who achieve the BOMA vision of excellence, furthering the BOMA mission and symbolizing its commitment to tenants, clients and the city at large. Outstanding Local Member of the Year nominees are: Gail Duke of NYL Investors and Cindy Boyea of Paramount Group.
The 2018 building categories include: Historical Building of the Year with nominees RXR Realty’s Starrett-Lehigh Building and Vornado Office Management, LLC’s One Park Ave. SL Green’s 1515 Broadway is up for Earth Building of the Year, and Renovated Building of the Year is 280 Park Ave. The Operating Building of the Year Awards are divided into categories, with One World Trade and 3 Bryant Park in the over one million s/f category, Kushner Group’s Dumbo Heights in the 500,000 s/f to one million s/fcategory, and the 100,000 to 249,999 s/f category nominees including: Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.’s Heron Tower and JLL’s IAC Building. Tishman Speyer Properties’ Hearst Tower is the Corporate Facility of the Year.
This year, the 2018 Pinnace Awards is chaired by Thomas Krol of Donnelly Mechanical Corp. with the assistance of the sub-committee Julie Arce of JLL, John Leitner of Environmental Building Solutions, Alyssa Zucker, of Vornado Realty Trust, Matt Blaszkiewicz of RXR Realty, Erin Leahy and Karl Tremmel of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., Michael Flatley, of Steven Winter Associates, Inc., Tom Walsh, of Burnham New York, and Charles Marr of CBRE, Inc.
“The selection process is difficult, as BOMA/NY consists of frontrunners in quality building ownership, CRE education and advocacy,” said Chairman Krol. “In a time when technology and energy efficiency are also of utmost importance, we have a truly exceptional group of progressive, visionary nominees.”
The Pinnacle Awards, hosted by BOMA New York, is one of the city’s commercial real estate market’s biggest nights of the year; honoring top commercial real estate professionals in the Greater New York Region.
Local Pinnacle Award winners qualify to compete at the Regional, Mid-Atlantic TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) awards and regional winners are then automatically entered in to the BOMA International TOBY competition.
